Professor Makoto Ueno has send me a copy of the programme booklet for Jorge's Japan tour in November 1989. A new piece of information is that JB played also in Kobe.
On 4 November 1988, in Kobe International House (Kokusai Kaikan), Kobe, Japan
Liszt: Six Consolations, S.172, Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude, S.173 No.3 (from Harmonies Poétiques et Religieuses), Funérailles; Chopin, 4 Ballades.
[Kobe is located in the Kansai region just 35 km west of Osaka. It's an attractive city which I've in fact visited a couple of time. Last December 2025, I had coffee and cake in Juchheim's, a German bakery, a place I noted down after finding a mention in Jun'ichirō Tanizaki's novel The Makioka Sisters, which I read during Covid-19 lockdown when we couldn't travel. 細雪, Sasameyuki; "light snow" is the Japanese title; it was was serialised from 1943 to 1948.
I've only glanced at the Japanese text at the moment - more to follow - (I can only read with a translation app), but it looks like the final section (pages 14-15) contains material from an interview.
