The Manchester Evening News (10 February 1987) mentions piano technician Denijs de Winter and the Bechstein brought from Europe.
“The C.Bechstein model D-280 [the company’s flagship 9-foot-2-inch (280 cm) concert grand] used for recordings with Jorge Bolet in London was not based in London. The instrument belonged to Pianomobil in Belgium. This concert-grand served for all Jorge Bolet’s concerts in Europe.“ (Denijs de Winter, 2017)
Belgian Denijs de Winter founded Pianomobil in Antwerp in 1979. (In 2023 he handed over to Torben Garlin.)
'Il a été l’accordeur de quelques-unes des plus grandes stars du clavier, d’Elton John à Martha Argerich, de Chick Corea à Alfred Brendel en passant par Jorge Bolet, Keith Jarrett ou Krystian Zimerman.' Le Figaro December 2021
Mr de Winter's sons are making a biographical film of his life.
